But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Unless our anchor’s ultimate hold be this 1 Cor. 2:9 promise, we unfortunately shall not easily (if at all) withstand some of the severe hardships of the Christian cross. The Bible teaches us (from Hebrews 12:2) that it was for the joy that laid before our Lord that he endured the cross – despising the shame thereof.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Do you find yourself struggling to get or keep your anchor firmly set on this glorious, unseen hope? Then consider praying that the Lord would, in his abundant mercies, help you explicitly with the same. You may also invite us to pray together with you.
